    Black Creek Park: 1.4-mile Ridge Trail winds though wetlands and a forest, and leads to the highest point in the park. 1,505 acres also offer bridle trails, a lodge, a playground and a shelter. 6 a.m.-11 p.m. daily.     Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge: 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Mon.-Fri. 1101 Casey Road, Alabama, Genesee County. Free. 948-5445.

    Letchworth State Park: hiking trails, guided hikes. 14,000-acre park also offers camping, picnicking, swimming and the Glen Iris Inn. Park Road (off Route 36), Mount Morris, Livingston County. $5 admission per car. 493-3600 or 493-3625.

    Mendon Ponds Park: guided hikes and self-guided hiking trails. The 2-mile Bird Song trail and 2.7-mile Quaker Pond Trail feature signs indicating visible plants and wildlife. 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily; nature center noon-4 p.m. Thurs.-Sun., closed holidays. Free.     Northampton Park: 1.5-mile Farm Trail starts at Springdale Farm (a demonstration farm), goes past the animals and a pond and leads into woodland. Includes model airplane field and bridle trails on 973 acres. 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. In Sweden and Ogden, between Route 31 (Brockport-Spencerport Road) and Colby Street.     Powder Mills Park: 1.5-mile Irondequoit Creek Trail offers views of hills, forests, wetlands and ravines. 380-acre park also offers fishing in Irondequoit Creek, tennis, picnicking and lodges. 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.     Seneca Park: 1.5-mile Seneca Trail follows the Genesee River gorge and wetlands. Paths from the trail go to the river. 297 acres also offer a playground, a pond, picnicking and the Seneca Park Zoo (admission fee required).
